  • What should I wear to class?
Think about your day, when you're typically out running errands or going to work. What are you usually wearing then? We are going to have you rehearsing your responses to real life scenarios. Rehearsing them in the clothes you would be in if something similar happened to you is a very good idea. It will help anchor the techniques to the
  • Can I bring my kids?
Hopefully there are some things you just wouldn't do in front of your kids. The most obvious reason to leave them with someone else for the class time is that it may be hard to explain why these people are "attacking" Mom, and why Mom is "attacking" them. In order to be free to work through the strong emotions that our training scenarios can evoke, we recommend that you leave the kiddos at home.
  • Are you guys just "nerfing" regular self-defense training and teaching the weak version to women?
Absolutely not. What you're learning, whether it's the mental or the physical part, are legit self-protection techniques. Some are proprietary, some are taken from world-renowned experts on the subject. All of them are real, and exactly what we'd be teaching guys.
  • Is this any different than traditional martial arts classes, then?
Yes! We all know (or will after taking this class!) there are situations and risks unique to your gender. There are also different emotional issues related to protecting yourself, especially if you've already suffered an assault. We love teaching everyone, but womens empowerment needs to be our focus in this class, so it's only open to women.
  • Do I have to be in shape to take this class?
That depends. Are you going to wait to be in shape before you're assaulted? Nope! So, like everything else in life, being physically fit helps......but it's absolutely not a requirement. This isn't Zumba class. Come as you are.
